Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent and reliable updates to Five9’s VoIP stack, emphasizing uptime.
- Deploy and manage software on Linux VMs across diverse environments including GCP, AWS, VMware, and OpenStack using tools like Terraform, Packer and Ansible.
- Deploy and manage containerized software running on Kubernetes.
- Design and improve existing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Define and implement VoIP oriented Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
- Collaborate with development team to ensure smooth and consistent deployment of our voice platform.
- Quickly identify and address voice platform incidents, reducing downtime and ensuring a high quality of service.
- Do root cause analyses and solution implementations to prevent future incidents.
- Implement monitoring and alerting tools to ensure early detection of incidents.
- Develop and implement automation tools to reduce manual intervention in the deployment and maintenance processes.
- Participate in on-call rotation (8h shift, 7days a week, every 3-4 weeks)
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or Compute Science related discipline preferred.
- +5 years of Linux experience required.
- +5 years of Networking experience required.
- +3 years of Public Cloud experience (GCP, AWS) required.
- Proficiency in Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines or equivalent technologies required.
- Experience with scripting (bash, python, go, etc) required.
- Experience with observability tools and practices, including Telegraf, Grafana, and Prometheus preferred.
- Experience with database technologies such as MySQL preferred.
- Good understanding VoIP technology and experience with related applications such as Freeswitch, Asterisk or Kamailio preferred.
- Experience with ESXI, OpenStack or other private cloud technologies preferred.
This role is fully remote for candidates who reside at least 50 miles away from our San Francisco or San Ramon office locations. For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Francisco or San Ramon locations, this role will be Hybrid.
