Job details

At Braviant, we believe in hiring great talent and offering them the flexibility to achieve great results unbounded by geography. Braviant is offering a fully remote option for anyone in the U.S. who wants to join our team and help us grow. We also have an office space in the heart of downtown Chicago for those who prefer to get out of the house and collaborate with some colleagues in person.

Who we are:
Braviant is a leading provider of tech-enabled credit products that combines breakthrough technology and cutting-edge machine learning to transform how people access credit online.  Our next-generation approach to lending reduces credit barriers and creates a Path to Prime to help millions of underbanked consumers build credit history, reduce their cost of borrowing, and take control of their personal finances. Braviant has been named multiple times to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies and has been recognized as a Best Place to Work by Crain’s Chicago, BuiltIn Chicago and American Banker.

The Role:
We are looking for a talented Lead FP&A Analyst to lead the day-to-day analysis of Braviant’s cash forecasting process, administration of weekly debt/capital remittances, along with providing other reporting and analytical insights as part of the FP&A team. The right person for this role has strong financial and data skills, a natural intellectual curiosity, and is biased towards action and proactively seeking new solutions.

What you'll be doing:
  • Maintain and enhance Braviant’s existing cash forecast models, enabling ability to provide CFO and other business leaders with expectations for 10-day and 13-week cash position outlooks, and informing decisions related to liquidity and debt facility management.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager FP&A to understand the business drivers and metrics used in broader finance Plans/forecasts, to incorporate updated assumptions appropriately into cash forecast processes.
  • Run weekly process for debt facility borrowing base calculation and certification, and draw/paydown request submissions.
  • Partner with the Accounting team to understand the nature and details of cash transactions passing through the company’s bank accounts, to ensure accurate reflection and timing assumptions in cash forecasts.
  • Utilize SQL queries to mine and analyze data from tables in the enterprise data warehouse, in search of improvements/efficiencies for cash forecasting or other finance processes.
  • Compile monthly reporting of financials and various associated covenants/metrics, for distribution to Braviant’s debt facility providers.
  • Provide support to Sr. Manager FP&A for other ongoing finance activities: planning/forecasting, monthly financial and KPI reporting, ad-hoc business analytics and requests.

  • What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, Treasury Ops, and/or Business Analytics focused roles. Preference for experience in a lending or other capital-intensive financial services business.
  • Thrives while working on critical, fast-paced projects and analyses.
  • Desire to dig into details and navigate the ‘gray space’ of process creation/enhancement rather than strictly following an existing process.
  • Advanced Excel skills required, and additional data skills (SQL queries; Looker/Tableau/PowerBI visualization tools) are a plus.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar quantitative discipline.

  • What will make you stand out:
  • Understanding of, and experience working with, the nuances between ongoing daily cash transactions vs. periodic accrual-based financial reporting/planning.
  • Prior knowledge of SQL query coding and data visualization tools (specifically Looker).
  • What it's like to work here:
We're about achieving results while having fun along the way. We believe in solving problems together and building on each other’s ideas. Our teams are comprised of smart, curious individuals and we encourage everyone to think like an owner, take initiative and drive their careers. Our broad roles provide tremendous opportunities for individuals to acquire new skills, gain exposure to all areas of the business, and quickly see their impact at Braviant. Want to learn more?
