About Us:
We're on a mission to make legal services more affordable & accessible while helping lawyers do more of the work they love.
In 2022, we launched Spellbook, the first generative AI copilot for lawyers, taking the legal industry by storm. Spellbook helps lawyers quickly draft language, flag risks, and derive insights from legal docs. We've been scaling to keep up with demand ever since and have recently closed a major round of financing.
We’re excited to bring highly motivated teammates on board who are passionate about adding real customer value, getting their hands dirty, and sweating the small stuff.
About the Role:
As a senior marketing leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's marketing strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a high-performing marketing team, collaborating cross-functionally to define and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that resonate with our target audience and reinforce our brand's value proposition. You will take a hands-on approach, directly contributing to copywriting initiatives, messaging, and content development.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Copywriting and Content Creation:
- Oversee and contribute to the creation of compelling, high-quality written content, including website copy, blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, email campaigns, and more.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all written materials, maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative.
- Messaging and Positioning:
- Develop and refine the company's overall messaging and positioning strategies.
- Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment in messaging across all touchpoints of the customer journey.
- Branding:
- Lead the development and maintenance of a strong, consistent brand identity that resonates with our target audience of lawyers.
- Work with internal and external design teams to create visually appealing and impactful brand assets, including logos, color schemes, and other design elements.
- Events and Campaigns:
- Plan and execute innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives, including webinars, workshops, industry events, conferences, and virtual events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align event strategies with broader marketing goals and ensure seamless execution.
- Market Intelligence:
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Translate market insights into actionable strategies that enhance the company's market positioning.
- Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
What We Look For:
We're looking for someone with a proven track record of driving growth in a B2B SaaS company. You should have experience developing and executing marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, including digital, social, and events. You should be a strategic thinker with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You should be comfortable leveraging data to inform decisions, measure campaign effectiveness, and continuously optimize our marketing efforts for better results.
Nice to Haves:
- At least 5 years of experience building teams and leading marketing functions in a related field
- Experience with legal or AI technology
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment
Perks:
- Own a piece of the pie; as a crucial early hire you will be granted generous stock options
- Generous paid time off
- Autonomy and responsibility; we measure ourselves on results and let you determine how you get the job done
- Flexible work environment; join us in the heart of downtown Toronto at our Yonge & Dundas office, the award-winning Genesis Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland, or wherever you feel you get your best work done
- Endless career growth potential; Spellbook is an early-stage company which means you'll have influence and leadership opportunities from day one
