Visa Overview
Despite talks of a five-year digital nomad visa for Bali, the finalized visa will only allow remote workers to stay in Bali for 60 days. This initial visa can be extended twice for an additional 60 days each time. This is not a multiple-entry visa, so if you leave the country, you must reapply to reenter.
Bali is already a popular option for remote workers. However, the existing visa regulations do not support extended visits. Instead, their newly introduced digital nomad visa is looking to open the country to more international travelers who will stay longer, promoting more sustainable tourism on the island.
Current travel restrictions
Except for valid travel documentation, to enter Indonesia currently, you need additional information on COVID-19 vaccination as well. Since January 12, 2022, Indonesia has reopened for foreign tourists, but vaccination is necessary. Therefore, your vaccination card must be shown at the airport before entering the country.

How to Apply for Indonesia or Bali Digital Nomad Visa
You can apply for the B211a Business Visa online, at a local Indonesian embassy, or through Citizen Remote.
There are several varieties of Indonesian visas. Depending on their country of citizenship, international travelers may or may not need to fulfill the Indonesia visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days. Here’s a look at what each visa offers visitors.
B211a Business Visa – Permits remote workers to stay in Indonesia for 60 days while continuing to work remotely. The visa can be extended another 60 days two more times to a maximum total of six months.
Visa on arrival – Permits a 30-day stay for tourists visiting Indonesia. Once within the country, it can also be prolonged by paying an additional cost.
Tourist visa – Typically lasts up to 60 days. For visiting and leisure, seeing friends and family, or engaging in activities like short study programs.
Business visa – A single entry business visa that allows a stay of 60 days with the option to extend for a total stay of up to 6 months (180 days).
Transit visa – Only required if you pass via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for more than 24 hours or another airport for more than 8 hours.
Temporary stay permit – Those who want to work or study in Indonesia are given a KITAS or Indonesian Temporary Stay Permit. It might be granted for either a brief stay of six months or an extended stay of one or five years.
